Cerebral Palsy Day is a day to celebrate and affirm the lives of the 17 million people living with cerebral palsy (CP). It is supported by over 450 cerebral palsy service organisations, universities, parent groups, research institutions, student groups, schools and children’s hospitals from 65 countries.
The historic conference was organized by the founders of Yes We Can- Mr.Samuel Mani, Ms.Meenu Arora Mani. The Key-note address was delivered by the Ambassador of Venezuela H.E Mr.Augusto Montiel, Ms.Ira Singhal, IAS, Mr.KG Suresh, Director General-IIMC, Mr.Himadrish Suwan, Chairman, CYL & ED-IIGL, Dr.Jai Madaan, Ms.Ira Trivedi, Mr.Qaisar NK Jani were present among other eminent personalities.
Addressing the conference Ira Singhal, India’s first differently abled UPSC topper remarked: “I’m looking forward to being a part of the government and a part of the system that tries to be more inclusive.”
Meanwhile, Himadrish Suwan talked about “In many parts of the world, people with disabilities simply don’t count.” There are countless stories like this all over the world, and much worse.
The Conference was all about ideas, inspiration, risk-taking and decision making with a wide array of speakers from Ambassadors, diplomats to Politicians gracing the occasion.
