Netflix has yet again has come under the scanner for abominable content.
There are many instances of abominable content in the controversial web series called Bombay Begums.
The web series is Hinduphobia.
In a shameful perversion of Hindu religious scriptures, a Tilakdhari politician is seen reading Bhagwad Geeta to make a point that the sacred dharma of a woman is to satisfy a man’s lust.
The web series also represents, portrays and glorifies children, which will only pollute young minds and lead to their exploitation and abuse at the hands of offenders.
The children are shown indulging in casual sex and snorting cocaine.
The National Commission for Protection has done well to ask Netflix to stop the streaming of Bombay Begums, but that is not enough.
The Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar should consider drafting new legislation to tame the Over-The-Top platforms that are dominated by the Leftists, Wokes and fake feminists.
Though Javadekar has brought in the new guidelines, they lack teeth to punish violators.
Even the Supreme Court pulled up the ministry for not having punishment clauses in the new guidelines.
The ball is now in Javadekar’s court. How soon his ministry comes out with the new legislation is eagerly awaited.
If the ministry delays in enacting stringent laws, the trust in Javadekar’s leadership will further take a hit, because the majority community are disturbed with his casual approach in dealing with OTT platforms and Lutyens media.
We hope he will take the matter seriously and quickly bring in much needed laws.
Jai Hind.
