It’s time for fake farmers protesting in Delhi borders to go home. Their leader Rakesh Tikait, who is more of a full-time politician and less of a farmers’ leader, lost his prestige in Uttar Pradesh Zillap Panchayat elections.
His candidate Satendra Balyan belonging to Bharatiya Kisan Union lost his deposit to BJP rival Dr Veerpal Nirwal from Muzaffarnagar, which is his own bastion.
Balyan could garner four votes. Just four votes! Three cheers to Barkha Dutt and company for their nautanki during the second wave of Covid pandemic in Uttar Pradesh.
Similarly, Rakesh Tikait’s electoral fate is no different from Balyan. He too had lost twice before in Lok Sabha and Assembly elections.
In 2007, he lost his deposit fighting election from Khtauli assembly constituency on a Congress ticket. He again lost his deposit from Amroha parliamentary constituency in 2014, despite getting support of the RLD and Congress.
After a good hibernation, Rakesh Tikait hoped to revive his political fortunes by fielding Balyan in Zilla Panchayat election to reap benefits out of his paper-tiger image of farmers’ messiah nicely built by Sussu Media, but failed miserably.
So, the question is how should Balyan’s defeat be seen? It is a clear message given by the people that they don’t support the so-called farmers’ agitation led by Tikait brothers at Delhi borders.
Therefore, go home and be safe, because this man, Rakesh Tikait, wants to climb up the political ladders by throwing you among the wolves – the Covid variants. This is my appeal to the innocent farmers among the fakes.
Jai Hind.
