The All India Muslim Personal Law Board yesterday had issued a threat against construction of Ram Mandir and hinted at converting back the temple into a mosque in future.
It also compared Babri Masjid to Turkey’s newly converted mosque Hagia Sophia and said it will always remain a Masjid.
Hagia Sophia was originally a church under Byzantine rulers in 537 AD. It was converted into the Great Mosque of Ayasofya in 1453 when Ottomans conquered Turkey. In 1931 Turkish nationalist leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk converted it into a secular museum.
However, Turkey’s present President Recep Tayyip Erdogan reverted Hagia Sofia into the Great Mosque of Ayasofya.
Nevertheless, is there any possibility for AIMPLB to revert the mandir into a mosque in democratic country like India?
The radical Islamist body has drawn inspiration from the conversion of the museum into mosque in Istanbul.
The Turkish government justified Muslims their rightful ownership of their house of worship by producing a copy of the sale deed document, which proved that Hagia Sofia is a private property with the ownership in the name of Abul Al- Fateh.
The document mentioned that Abul Al-Fateh had purchased the property through his own hard earned money and the payment was made through payment bonds.
The government also claimed that the landlord of the property had created an endowment and willed the building to be made a mosque and Muslims use it as a house of worship.
How much of this is true, it is left to the church for debate. However, in the context of legal argument as of now, the Turkish government has legal documents to clear the dust that had settled over Hagia Sophia.
But, does AIMPLB has these sort of documents to lay claim to the Muslim ownership of Babri Masjid?
In fact, the final verdict of the Supreme Court decided the ownership of the land. It said that Lord Ram was born at the disputed site at Ayodhya and was symbolically the owner of the land.
Secondly, the apex court had noted that the structure below the remains of Babri Masjid which was razed to the ground in 1992 by Hindutva ‘kar sevaks’ was not an Islamic structure, based on a report from the Archaeological Survey of India.
Interpretation of this observation is that Babri Masjid was built on Hindu structure which was found below the remains of Babri Masjid which was razed to the ground in 1992 by Hindutva kar sevaks. Therefore, AIMPLB’s claim that the supreme court has affirmed its position that Babri Masjid was never built by demolishing any mandir or any Hindu place of worship, is highly debatable.
So, how would AIMPLB lay claim to Ram temple and reconvert it into a mosque? It is an utopia, at least, in a democratic country.
Maybe, it could be possible in an Islamic State, but India is not that meek a country to submit to this evil design. Many Muslim invaders came and some of them ruled, but could not and shall not destroy the oldest civilisations in the world. Period.
