Read these past statements of JK leaders carefully.
Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister and PDP Chief Mehbooba Mufti: She said fiddling with the special provision will be akin to setting a powder keg on fire and whoever tries to do it will be burnt to ashes.
She also said that she would fight till death if there is an attempt to toy with Jammu and Kashmir’s special status, and warned abrogating Article 370 would lead to freedom for the state from India.
National Conference President Farooq Abdullah: He said he wished that with China’s support, Article 370 will be restored and no Kashmiri anymore feels he or she is an Indian.
He also said he will not sleep until he gets back for the people their rights.
Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad: He condemned revocation of Article 370 and accused BJP of murdering the Constitution.
He also said the centre has not just scrapped Article 370, but also divided the state and decapitated India.
Pause.
But, what did they do yesterday? They limped at Prime Minister Modi’s Lok Kalyan Marg residence to attend an all-party meeting on Jammu and Kashmir with their hunched backs, indicating that they have accepted the reality that Article 370 is gone forever.
This is the defeat of these leaders and the Lutyens media that ran propaganda against abrogation of Article 370.
They also ran a campaign speculating that the calling of the meeting by Modi without an agenda was a climbdown on India’s decision to abrogate Article 370.
Nay.
BJP will never climb down on this because Shyama Prasad Mukherjee, the party’s founder, had died in JK police custody fighting against Article 370.
Also Modi, who hoisted tricolour at Srinagar’s Lal Chowk along with Murli Manohar Joshi in 1992, will ever think of restoring special status to JK.
Moreover, it is not in the hands of the prime minister to restore Article 370, but in the hands of the Supreme Court and Indian Parliament. And, no power in the world can restore Article 370 because JK is an integral part of India.
This truth has dawned upon the Gupkar gang and it has shown interest to participate in state elections, which Modi promised them at the meeting held at his Lok Kalyan Marg residence.
So, it is the climdown of the Gupkar gang and JK leaders, not Modi government’s. This must be clear to The Wire, The Liar; The Quint, The Squint; The Print, The Pint and other propaganda portals.
