In a bid to topple Kamal Nath’s government, Madhya Pradesh Congress leader Jyotiraditya Scindia has shifted his loyalists to Bengaluru in a special charter flight.
This development comes in the wake of MP Chief Minister’s meeting with AICC supremo Sonia Gandhi in New Delhi.
According to media reports, Scindia today has shifted six ministers and nine MLAs of the party to Bengaluru in a special charter flight.
The MLAs, Rajwardhan Singh, Pradhuman Singh Tomar, Bankim Silawat, Giriraj, Ms Raksha, Jaswant Jatav, Suresh Dhakad, Jaipal Singh, Brijendra Yadav along with Purshottam Prashar, a close aide of Scindia, were escorted by Bengaluru police to their respective destinations.
Reports claim that Scindia loyalists were flown in one aircraft VT – BVV of one Air Charter services.
Both Congress and BJP have been trading accusations against each other since March 3. The Congress alleged BJP indulging in toppling Kamal Nath’s government by taking away some of its MLAs to a luxury hotel in Gurugram.
Senior Congress leader Digvijaya Singh accused BJP for luring party MLAs by offering Rs 25-35.
Rubbishing the allegations, former MP chief minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan said that Digvijaya Singh is a blackmailer who tries to keep his relevance by issuing baseless statements.
“The matter is of their party but allegations are being levelled against us. There are so many factions within the Congress party that they are fighting within themselves,” he had said.
The Kamal Nath’s coalition has a majority of 121 seats in the 230-member state assembly, while BJP has 107 MLAs.
Under these circumstances, the switching over of the disgruntled MLAs to the BJP, can bring down the coalition government and give BJP with the prerequisite numbers to stake a claim at the government.
