In this piece, I want to discuss how Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra can stoop so low when the cases of coronavirus are surging in the country.
Both, brother and sister, are peddling fake news, one after another, on their respective Twitter handles. And are doing it, just to gain power.
Consider this. “Government of India (GOI), you are utterly ungrateful. India’s health workers are left without government insurance cover as the second wave of COVID-19 hits the country,” tweeted Rahul Gandhi.
Interestingly, this tweet was posted at 4.21 pm on April 19, but the health ministry the previous day had already clarified that a new dispensation will be provided to cover the corona warriors and it is in talks with the New India Assurance.
So, it is very clear that Rahul Gandhi was knowing about the clarification, and yet he went on to tweet the fake news alert.
Not only this, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, his sister, spread a fake news, accusing former Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis of hoarding Remdesivir.
She tweeted, by tagging a video of Fadnavis and other top BJP leaders, that these leaders were arguing with police officials, defending the hoarding of Remdesivir.
However, the truth was that about 60,000 vials of Remdesivir injections procured by BJP leaders were intended for the Maharashtra government.
And, this was confirmed by none other than Maharashtra’s Foods & Drugs Administration Minister Dr Rajendra Shingane.
He said, “I was aware of it. The BJP leaders had met me at my house along with the manufacturers’ representatives. They offered to help us procure the Remdesivir stocks for the state government and I agreed to it.”
The biggest take away from this incident is that even a party, which is in opposition, can also extend its help to the rival parties, who are ruling the state.
Both, Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, should take a cue from this incident and try to help the state and central governments to tackle the Covid crisis, instead of creating panic among people and anarchy in the country through their fake reports.
The saga of fake information doesn’t end here. Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, in yet another tweet, raised the issue of oxygen export.
She said: “The export in 2019-20 was 4,503 Mt which has increased in 2020-21 to 9,300 Mt. We don’t have an oxygen shortage but are the biggest producers and despite the threat of pandemic, export has been doubled. Who will be responsible for death due to oxygen shortage.”
This also turned out to be fake and a part of malicious propaganda. The central government in a tweet fact checked the report by saying that there are two categories of exports of liquid oxygen – medical and industrial.
The liquid oxygen which Priyanka Gandhi Vadra refered to was industrial oxygen, not medical. This is the level of her IQ, and she dreams of being the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh.
So, people. You should start asking questions to the Vadras and the Gandhis for creating anarchy, just to gain power, at a time when the country is fighting the corona virus and its mutants.
