Yesterday, a left-leaning digital news media Lallantop editor Saurabh Dwivedi shared an infographic on Twitter, asking BJP supporters to use Durex condom to ensure their extinction.
He did not stop there but took a jibe at Narendra Modi by asking Twitterati’s whether the infographic should be made viral by using the customary mitron (friends) that have been associated with the Prime Minister. Thereafter, people lashed out at India Today Group for giving him a platform to express his hatred against BJP.
Lallantop is owned by India Today Group.
Saurabh, who is also a disciple of Rajdeep Sardesai, deleted the tweet and issued an unconditional apology, claiming the tweet was done in humour and was against the editorial policy of India Today Group, which does not take any political sides.
However, its editorial policy has historically been pro-Congress. It is a well-known fact that the chairman and editor-in-chief Aroon Purie was a classmate of Rajiv Gandhi at Doon School and has a very cordial relationship with Gandhi Parivar. Not even once, Purie, in his interviews with Sonia Gandhi, did ask questions relating to multi-crore UPA scams.
He also infamously set on a campaign trail with Congress candidate Hardik Patel ahead of Gujarat elections.
And, less said the better about Rajdeep’s credentials. He is listed among the Pasta journalists in Gandhi family’s list, who do not have the distinction of exposing UPA government’s multi-crore scams between 2004 and 2014, though being a big name in media.
So, the tendering of apology of Saurabh is an eyewash, a drama, which is enacted by the left-liberal cabal now and then. His infographic tweet is certainly not in good taste and India Today’s editorial policy is undeniably pro-Congress and this prude talk pours from the frustration of its failed agenda to nail down Modi.
Instead of BJP supporters wearing the condom, it should be worn by looters, crook media, half-baked academia, and ignorant Bollywood stars, who run anti-India campaigns, so that such criminals and traitors are not born again.
And, Saurabh should be the first among them to wear, because a journalist as wretched as he is not born again.
So, friends should we go viral on him or not? (Isko chalana chahiye ki nahi chalana chahiye, mitro).
