The arrest of Republic TV’s Editor-in-Chief Arnab Goswami is not only a political conspiracy against the channel but also against nationalist voice.
It is high time that the central government dismisses the fascist Uddhav Thackeray government in Maharashtra.
The state machinery has allowed itself to be used as a band of ruffians, which is out to throw law into the dirt bins, establishing the failure of the constitutional machinery.
Consider these instances – Palghar lynchings, physical attacks on Arnab, false TRP and abetment of suicide cases against him, Bollywood actor’s Sushant Singh Rajput’s death, demolition of Kangana Ranaut’s bungalow, and attack on former Indian Navy officer Madan Lal Sharma.
These are clear indications of deterioration in law and order in Maharashtra.
Moreover, the Uddhav government willfully disobeyed the Central Government directives to handle the Covid situation. This automatically invites punitive action under Article 356 of the Constitution.
The government also failed miserably in medical preparedness to fight the virus. Despite the availability of adequate PPEs in Mumbai, it failed to deliver them to the hospitals. The government also failed to provide proper security in COVID-19 hospitals.
It is crystal clear that the Uddhav government has failed to adhere to the communications of the central government in letter and spirit, which has left thousands to die. Therefore, it has failed to fulfill its obligation under the Constitution to protect the health and life of the citizens.
Despicable Arrest
Coming back on Arnab’s arrest, it is despicable. It shows Uddhav’s government is a fascist government in its true meaning because Mumbai police have opened 2018 abetment to suicide case, which was closed by a city court.
Journalists have all the rights to investigate Sadhus lynchings and Sushant’s death, even if they lead to tightening of the noose around the Uddhav government’s neck. They do not owe his government an explanation, but the people of India.
And, who is Uddhav? He is not even an elected chief minister, but a selected one.
By arresting Arnab, Uddhav has only inspired his channel to go after the truth more vigorously, because it knows his desperate attempts to coverup something fishy is linked to Sushant and Disha Salian death cases.
The fall of the Uddhav government is imminent and it will happen because of his folly.
The Hypocrisy Of Tukde-Tukde Gang
This could be a recurring question, but needs to be asked – what if the Narendra Modi government had mocked “media persons” like Aroon Purie and Pranoy Roy? The Lutyens media would have bombarded articles in The New York Times and Washington Post, casting aspersions on Hindus for having elected Modi.
On the flip side, they have lined up against Arnab, in a secret TRP scam campaign, where he is being made as a fraudster “smashing journalistic values.”
They have ganged up to back “India Today” which has been found guilty of committing TRP fraud by remaining silent.
For these suave commentators, what matters is to create a narrative, not the substance, forgetting that common people have rejected the rants of Swara Bhaskar, Javed Akhtar, and Aamir Khan against the Modi government and other institutions.
The reality is that BJP has not acted like the fascist Uddhav government in a way it has dealt with media and its citizens.
It indicates that the Deep Establishment is still entrenched in positions of power and enjoys an asymmetrical advantage.
