Friends,
Today, we shall speak about Hollywood and Bollywood actor Irrfan Khan. He had led a very great life. And, if we did not speak about it, it would be an insult to the departed soul.
Irrfan was married to a Hindu girl, Sutapa Devendra Sikhdar.
As soon as he began talking about the hypocrisy of Islam, he came under the attack of fundamentalists.
Today, Irrfan is being remembered, not because of his Bollywood and Hollywood films, but for his reformist ideas.
One difference you have to understand here is that if a person raises voice against ill practices of Hindus, he is called a social reformer, but the Abrahamic cults issue decrees and fatwas against such persons.
Similarly, Irrfan had raised voice against ill practices of Islam. In 2016, Irrfan had removed Khan from his name because he said he wanted to be recognised by his name, not by his sir name.
His father also used to make fun of him. We are seeing today that after his death, especially in social media, lot of Muslims are mocking him. Some people say that after marrying Sutapa, he became a critic of Islamic practices, but that’s not the truth.
In fact, even his father used to make fun of him by calling a Brahmin born in Pathan’s house. Despite being born in a Muslim family, Irrfan did not eat meat. He was a vegetarian since childhood.
Irrfan’s father also used to take him for hunting. He loved the forest ambiance, but did not like hunting animals, never. For this reason also, his father jokingly used to call him a Brahmin boy.
On the serious note, Irrfan was attacked by Muslims for his comments on Bakrid and fastings during Ramzan. Actually, what he meant was, a dear person, like one’s son, is sacrificed, not the goats. Sacrificing goats is mere symbolism.
On Ramzan fasting, Irrfan said it is not about starving, but about self-introspection. He was not wrong on this either, but Mullahs rejected his ideas and said it would be a violation of Sharia. From this, one can understand the hardcore fundamentalism of some Muslims.
Before we conclude, Irrfan had read Swami Dayanand Saraswati’s Satyarth Prakash. This was disclosed by his friend Manzoor, who is now called by Manoj Arya’s name.
Irrfan has always spoken against Islamic fundamentalism and raised voice against Islamic terrorism and questioned Muslims shouting anti-India slogans. Not only this, he was attached to Patanjali Peeth.
Also, he practised yoga and pranayam and was interested in the study of Vedic civilization.
Such persons should be venerated because very less Muslims are truly secular in nature.
Once again, we at India Speaks Daily pay our rich tributes to Irrfan Khan.
May his soul rest in peace.
