US President Donald Trump today decimated the anti-India brigade’s misinformation campaign against Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) which led to Delhi violence by saying it is an internal matter and it is up to India to deal with it.
“As far as individual attack (Delhi violence), I heard about it, but I didn’t discuss that. That’s up to India,” he told media in New Delhi when he was asked about religious violence in North East Delhi in which nine people died.
Lauding Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Trump said India has worked very hard to have religious freedom.
“We did talk about religious freedom and I would say that the Prime Minister was incredible in what he told me. The Muslim population in India has grown from two million to 200 million. He wants people to have religious freedom, and very strongly he said, in India, they have worked very hard to have great and open religious freedom,” he said.
Destroying anti-Muslim theory linked to his policies, Trump said the travel ban is not against Muslims, but against those who are going to cause problems, harm and death to lot of people.
“I won the travel ban. We won it in the Supreme Court. We use the travel ban where it is needed. It is not based on religion. We used it where we felt there is going to be trouble … It is not a thing against Muslims,” he said.
“It is something against areas where we don’t want people coming into our country that are going to cause problems, harm, death and hurt lot of people. And I feel very strongly about that,” he added.
