The name of a Shiv Sena leader who is also the Transport Minister in the extortion case has cropped up.
Sachin Vaze, who has been arrested in Mansukh Hiren murder case, has revealed the name in a hand-written letter to NIA.
In the letter, Vaze accused Anil Parab of extortion.
Vaze claimed that Parab had asked him to extort Rs 2 crore each from 50 contractors associated with the BMC.
In the second page of the letter, Vaze claimed that in July-August last year he was called to the official bungalow of Parab.
During the meeting, Parab told Vaze to look into the inquiry of BMC contractors and asked him to bring the trustees of the body to him for a negotiation on the inquiry.
Vaze further claimed that Parab had told him to initiate talk about extorting Rs 50 crores from the contractors to end the inquiry.
He also claimed that he had expressed his inability to do so since he did not know any contractors.
From the letter, it seems evident that Vaze is trying to insinuate that he is being implicated in the Antilia bomb case as he allegedly refused to run extortion rackets for leaders from NCP and Shiv Sena.
Interestingly, Vaze also dragged the names of Sharad Pawar and Ajit Pawar, which is not surprising, because he is Uddhav Thackeray’s loyalist and an ex-Shiv Sena leader.
However, both Pawars are not directly involved in the allegations leveled by Vaze.
But, what is surprising is Parab’s name being dragged in the matter, who belongs to Shiv Sena. Why should Vaze drag his name?
Is it that Uddhav Thackeray wants to sacrifice Parab to save a bigger leader than him and placate Sharad Pawar?
Let us wait and watch. Interesting days are ahead of us in Maharashtra politics.
